Concrete Patios Coquitlam
Concrete Patio Installation
An outdoor patio can be made from a couple different types of material which include wood, different types of stone, and concrete. On top of being more expensive compared to a concrete patio, wood and stone patio come with their own challenges. For wooden patios, excessive rainfall (which we get a lot of in BC) can potentially cause the wood to splinter which can then give you splinters on your feet and hands. With organic material like wood, there is always the risk of pesky bugs and mites that can call your patio its new home. Patios that are made of slate or stone can become quite expensive due to material costs. Weeds and grass will start growing between stone cracks and will add another chore for you and your family.
Concrete is the perfect material to build your patio with due to its versatility and its inexpensive material cost. Concrete has incredible durability and holds up to the elements very well. Compared to a stone patio, concrete lasts longer and is cheaper to build. Not only that, your concrete can be stamped and colored to match any type of stone or brick. Stamped concrete doesn’t create any holes or cracks which is where grass and weed typically enter for stone patios. The versatility concrete has is amazing as you can dye the concrete a gray green for a slate look or an orangey red colour matched with small rectangles to match brick. Concrete patios are also very straight forward to maintain. The cleaning process consists of hosing it down or using a power washer, some soap and a push brush to thoroughly clean it, and then rinsing everything off the patio with a hose.
