Commercial Concrete RepairsIssues with concrete in commercial settings can sometimes be tricky to notice but may lead to issues if left untreated. An example of this is if minor voids exist under slabs or below control joints, concrete flexing can occur which can lead to an unsafe work environment. Our commercial concrete experts have experience with many different types of repairs leaving you with a stress free solution.
What causes concrete damage in commercial settings? In an industrial setting like a warehouse, heavy machinery is usually being used throughout the day. If this heavy traffic is combined with some weak load-bearing soils, this traffic can potentially create voids beneath the concrete and control joints. This can lead to concrete flexing, displacement, and some sagging which will create an unsafe work environment for your employees and your equipment. For commercial properties and office buildings, concrete settlement can be caused by soil that is poorly compacted or soil washout from water infiltration (this happens in residential settings as well). If concrete settlement is left unrepaired, it can lead to major interior finish and structural damages. If the damage is severe enough, businesses can be forced to temporarily shut-down until proper repairs are made. If you ever notice cracks or irregularities in your concrete, give us a call and we’ll make sure your issue doesn’t escalate further. |
Concrete Leak Repair
One of the worst things you can come home to is seeing water where water is not supposed to be. Cracks in the foundation of your home or basement can be quite common and can be one of the most likely spots for outside moisture to come in from. For the majority of non-structural cracks, a polyurethane injection is the most common method of repairing such cracks. Polyurethane is commonly used on below grade concrete structures (below ground level) as moisture is most likely to end up there due to gravity. Water actually accelerates the curing process for polyurethane which makes it a great option for any crack that is actively leaking or has some mud or mineral deposits. When possible, using a polyurethane injection from the inside of the structure is the preferred option as it much more affordable compared to excavating and installing a waterproof membrane from the outside.
Concrete Crack Repair
Not only are concrete cracks an eyesore, depending on the type of crack it is, it can actually cause some serious damage if left untouched. When dealing with a structural concrete repair, an epoxy injection if the most commonly used method for cracks or deficiencies. Epoxy doesn’t work well when moisture is present and is much more prevalent for repair jobs above grade (above ground level) as there is less chance of moisture to be in the area. An epoxy injection is one of the best ways to return the integrity of your concrete as once it is cured, the bond strength is extremely strong and perfectly suited structural repairs.
